Since a lot of the out of town members are going to be at the All Breeds show in Nevada later in September it was decided to move the IA4WDC meeting to there. Changes to the bi-laws Needed:
– dues should be changed to $6 from $15 because insurance in no longer included in the dues.
– Remove the $100 New Club Fee
-Put info for how to renew the EIN (File a 990 form every two years) in the bi-laws. This is needed to keep our 501C7 tax designation for Recreational Clubs
-Put the IA4WDC address in the bi-laws (PO Box 771 Grimes, 50111)
Land Acquisition
-Scott Dorau gave a summary of his conversations with NORA. Details can be found on the forum. He will also call the city planner of Fort Dodge to discuss land acquisition
-Coleman started a facebook page for supporting a public full size off road park http://www.facebook.com/pages/Support-for-a-public-full-size-OHV-park-in-Iowa/160675920632181?v=wall
-Bob Rees is working on getting David Downing from the DNR to an association meeting.
-Curtis Thienes asked if registration stickers or plates have been considered to fund a public off road park in Iowa.
– Bob Rees and Coleman Young said we have talked about that in the past.
– Coleman said that would probably just need to get 500 prepaid plates or stickers.
– Stickers would be good for non-street legal vehicles, or people from out of state.
– Maybe dealerships could sell the stickers.
Events
-Jocci is planning for their next Jeep Show. They hope to have a website ready by January. They are working to get bigger sponsors, such as Jeep. They considered this year’s show a success, despite the rain.

-JOCCI open run. – Plans for a JOCCI open run have been delayed because of rain and conflicting schedules. JOCCI will discuss the event at their next meeting and possibly schedule it for October.
-4×4 Show and Swap Meet – Story County Fair Grounds
*A booth will be set up for the IA4WDC
*Damage members will be attending the show.
*Delegates should tell their clubs about the show and that they can have a booth there for free.
*A flyer for the event is on the IA4WDC calendar.

Land Acquisition
-Fort Dodge land
*Syndicate members will follow up with Scott Dorau to see if he has contacted NORA yet to see what it would take for them to help us get a presentation ready to show the Fort Dodge city counsel.
*Damage Inc raised a concern that ATV people may be getting more exposure in Fort Dodge because they are local to the area.
-General Land Acquisition
*Bob Rees will call some contacts with the DNR to see if they would come to our November meeting. He will report back if they are coming so we can prepare for the meeting.
*If we can get them to come to the meeting, Christina will being a DNR document she has from Minnesota that will help.
*Bob Rees will get statistics about 4WD magazine subscriptions.
*Damage, Inc suggested that if we need a bigger meeting room, we could see about using one they have in Ankeny.

Midwest Fall
Meeting – Unable to find accommodations for us to sponsor the
meeting, either because of price or late notice. We would like to
try again for the spring meeting.

It is
estimated that we will need 35 double occupancy rooms, and a meeting
room to hold up to 50.
JOCCI Open run – The planned event was rained out. They will
discuss new dates at their next meeting and report back.
Syndicate Open Run
Scheduled for July 24 and 25 at Area 51. (Syndicate’s wheeling land)
MUST be a member of the association for insurance reasons.
Because of the terrain, participates must have front and rear
lockers, a winch, and 35’s
Tow points, and first aide kit will also be required.
Participants should expect that getting body damage is highly
likely.
Because
the area is relatively small, the event will be limited to twenty
rigs.
Prepare
for a high level of poison ivy.
Luke
will email directions on how to get there to each club.
Concrete
Cruisers car show. -We did not attend, because we didn’t get enough
info back about the event.
Windsor
Heights parade – The promoters of the parade did not return
information to us about entering. We didn’t pay anything.
